Burned out Millennial Moms

The thing about being a millennial woman in 2023 is that as young people we were told we could do it all – we would be that generation of women breaking glass ceilings AND raising little people.

So I find myself grieving that vision more often than I care to admit.

I had such dreams of being a mom and a lawyer, of creating significant change and being patient with my kids – all of which feels too crumble each day.

This fresh 48 photo reminds me of how I once thought it would be an easy transition into a career when Anna hit kindergarten – but it’s not really.

Childcare for 5-12 year olds is a massive gap in our communities that I wish we talked about more – we focus so heavily on supporting families in 3-5 years, and then they go to kindergarten and it’s like support rug is pulled out from under you.

— signed, that mama who feels burned out on figuring it out.

I filed for financial compensation following negligence of bookkeeping services that I hired out for almost 18 months.  The thing about small claims court is they really want you to nail […]

Prince George, BC | My Rhododendron Died

I’m from BC’s southwest coast, rhododendrons grow everywhere. They are the hedge plant of everything, but in Prince George, BC you will be hard pressed to find a rhododendron because they are just not zone 3 plants.  When we purchased our current home we were surprised to discover a rhododendron – but there was much […]
