Who doesn’t love new cloth diaper products?
probably, regular people.
But, this mama blogger is a cloth diaper addict and I knew my cloth diaper stash needed to have a Funky Fluff Flex. The Funky Fluff Flex is the LATEST addition to the Funky Fluff family in 2018 giving the Funky Fluff line up a simple, down-to-earth cover. Last year we saw the release of the sweetest little newborn cloth diapers, and this year the Funky Fluff Flex.

Flex Design
Straight from the package, the Funky Fluff Flex is nothing to write home about. This cloth diaper cover isn’t anything new or uniquely different than what is already on the market. It is very similar to the Lalabye Baby Cover. This is not a surprise because the regular line up Funky Fluff is similar to the Lalabye Baby Diaper.
Main Design Features: The Funky Fluff Flex is a cloth diaper cover. It is similar to the regular line up Funky Fluff cloth diapers but it does not have any pocket openings. This diaper features the classic 2 rise snap setting along 4 rise settings. It also has a double waist snap and a crossover for tiny babies. Lower hip snaps help keep the wings in place and prevent potential droop.

Cloth diaper covers are pretty simple. You get what you see on the outside, and then on the inside is nothing more. The Funky Fluff Flex does feature an inner panel of material at both the front AND the back of the inside of this cloth diaper. The back has an additional elastic bounce to give a perfect double gusset option. Underneath both flaps is a snap for the snap-in insert option.
The leg casings of this diaper also offer a DEEP double gusset providing tons of space to fit however much absorbency you may want.
Funky Fluff Flex is sold as is. It is just the cover and nothing else. Insert choices are at your own beckon call. Funky Fluff likely has the intentions of encouraging you to use their amazingly high-quality bamboo inserts, but you could use anything. I use Bummis prefold cloth diapers in mine because I’m OBSESSED. You might consider your choice of flat cloth diapers or your go-to choice of prefold diapers.

Funky Fluff Flex for Real Life
Just because I think the Funky Fluff Flex is nothing special, doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s an amazing cloth diaper cover. The best thing about the Funky Fluff Flex is it meets all the marks. The Funky Fluff cloth diaper cover everything I want in a cloth diaper cover.

Sizing of Funky Fluff Flex.
This diaper fits all the kids. Both my babies are chunky at 23 pounds & 38 pounds, and this diaper still fits. I have no doubts this diaper will fit smaller babies but I will have to refer you elsewhere for proof.

Overall Fit of Funky Fluff Flex.

Honestly, this setting is unrealistic and with day-to-day I find myself using the open rise because this diaper does feel like it fits smaller than the one size option
No complaints on the overall fit. I rarely use the hip snap because I hate snapping an extra snap, but the diaper provides great functionality and fit for both kids. I typically use a prefold cloth diaper inside and it’s as trim as you want it to be
Features of Funky Fluff Flex Worth Loving
The features of the Funky Fluff Flex is my favourite part.
- Front & Back Flaps: extra protection to keep the wet messes in!
- Internal Snaps: should you feel inclined to pair with your favourite Funky Fluff Inserts (or any other brand).
- Narrow Double Rise Snap: to keep awkward diaper bulges at bay.
- 4 Rise Snaps: to give the perfect rise setting every time.
- CrossOver Snaps: to roll up poopy messes (and fit tiny babies)
price point…
Funky Fluff Flex is an AMAZING price point and we need to talk about that more. Coming in at only $14 CDN it is one of the most affordable cloth diaper covers.
You could build a full stash of 6 covers for only $84 plus your choice of inserts such as the affordable bummis prefolds and cloth diaper for just shy of $200.
This makes it another top contender for budget-friendly Canadian Cloth Diapers.

Hate it?
Not at all.
I’m still kinda crazy obsessed about my Omaiki Cabrio cloth diaper covers at the moment, but the Funky Fluff Flex is quickly becoming popular.

It’s just easy to use and I love the simplicity of a cloth diaper cover system. I used to use my Funky Fluff cloth diapers all the time. I used to collect them but then I hated stuffing diapers, and the fit and the leaks.
Not with the Funky Fluff Flex.
Funky Fluff Flex is a perfect fit everytime. Double gussets give me the room to load this diaper with as much absorbency as I want and for me, that means no more leak challenges.

Thank you for the review! I’ve been wanting to try funky fluff.
I have tried funky fluff.. we like it but a bit bulky!
We love Funky Fluff around here. I wish my husband liked cover-type diapers because this would be a must have!
Off topic but where did you get the river rocks? I’ve only seen them at our local library
Thanks for this review! I only have one funky fluff pocket and love it, so likely would love the cover too. I like that it doesn’t come with any inserts. Many times I don’t use what inserts come with diapers and don’t like paying for them. Great review!
