TodAy is Report Card Writing day at my kids school which means primary kids stay home.
In SD57, every school has a different day.
Unlike NID there are no community childcare options and high school kids are in class.
Sooo unless you happen to have willing family, today goes to the birds and is chaos navigating who will stay home, how you’ll tackle your job and all that.
I know school isn’t childcare.
But childcare options for Kindergarten students are non existent. The only NID program for kindergartens is the Y and they are already at capacity.
Eric called in a last minute favour with his parents. Key last minute. But there was a lot of anxiety about bringing two kids to work today. Sooooo
Anyways, if you ever naively say “I’ll go back to work when the kids go to school” – don’t. Go back to work when they are little. Take a hiatus during kindergarten. And pray until they can stay home alone.
It’s so much easier to work when theirs childcare options between ages 3-5.
