Today, is day 3 of transitioning into a “Stay-At-Home-Wife.” Is the acronym SAHW? How on earth might you pronounce that? Any suggestions? Saa-how? SAH-W?
We are back from our three-week vacation in Europe, and I am now willfully unemployed. I have applied for a few jobs, but not with too much gusto as our baby is expected to arrive this July. Do I work, only to go on maternity leave for the rest of my life? Or do I spend 6 months in joyful relaxation and bliss?
It will take some time to find a job, should I be successful. In the meanwhile, that makes me the primary caregiver of our house and puppies (not that this wasn’t my previous role when I was dutiful employed with the local electric utility).
You may ask, how’s that going? How is day three of being a SAHW? Well, it’s not. I loaded the dishwasher today, and attempted to walk the dogs (but freezing rain interfered). I have a list of tasks I want to carry out, too bad my exhaustion and need to feed every 2 hours (pregnancy indigestion), keeps me from feeling productive.
Check in next week, perhaps I’ll have accomplished more. I have a feeling, I might not like this whole ‘stay-at-home’ thing after all. (Doesn’t help that hubby is away for work for the next three weeks – just me in this big ol’ house)
