Fall is my most favourite time of the year, and with a toddler, in tow, it is even more magical. I’m a little biased because October is my birthday month, but that aside Fall continues to bring me so much joy. Here are 5 Toddler Friendly Fall Activities we are looking forward to doing this year (and where you can do them in the City of Prince George).

5 Toddler Friendly Fall Activities
- Jump, Run & Play in the Leaves.
Is there anything more satisfying than the crunch of leaves?Prince George: Check out Hubble Homestead over the Thanksgiving long weekend, or visit Cottonwood Island Park for a short walk thru the leaves. - Splash & Play in the Mud.
Fall also means the return of rain and mud. Don’t let it get you down because of there’s nothing more enjoyable than watching a toddler has his first (or tenth mud bath).Prince George: The best muddy trail in town is Ferguson Lake. It’s chalk full of roots so leave the stroller at home, but little feet should manage. Air on the side of caution and pack a carrier in case you need to carry anyone out.
- Get Lost in a Corn Maze.
Corn Maze’s are unrefutable my favourite part of fall. Last year, I explored with him on my back, but this year I can’t wait for his take charge attitude to lead us on our next adventure.Prince George: Head South to Quesnel to visit the Australian Ranch for their annual corn maze. The corn isn’t tall, but you’ll still get lost. Venture out at night for a family event you won’t forget. - Collect & Carve Pumpkins
Pumpkin fields aren’t native to my area, so you’ll have to make do with man-made pumpkin patches or a trip to the grocery store. Playing with the insides of a pumpkin is sure to make any toddlers day. Prince George: Black Spruce Farms hosts an annual pumpkin patch in the past years. Check them out early for your chance to score a pumpkin in the hay field, and then wander over to explore the farm animals. - Sipping Cider
End the day with a cup of hot cider or hot chocolate. While this seems like a terrible idea with a toddler, a cup of warm apple juice or frothy milk at your favourite cafe is an awesome treat. I pair it with a cookie, and my active toddler happily sits still for 5 minutes.

The mud and the leaves are the favourite thing of my children. The only con is that they should go to the bathroom straight after that and usually the don’t like that.
As Brooke says, my kids love to play in the mud and get the car dirty afterwards. But I guess kids will be kids and I’ll let them have their fun 🙂 my kids don’t like carving pumpkins, but instead, they want to jump on them so I try to keep my boys away from anything pumpkin related haha.
