Bigger is Better: Size 2 Snappi [Snappi Baby Review[

I’m not the first blogger to be chatting about the RETURN OF THE SIZE 2 SNAPPI, and I won’t be the last. If you’re anything like me, you were probably pretty stoked to hear the Size 2 Snappi would be restocking and returning to the cloth diaper marketplace.

I received product and/or compensation for this post.

Why does this matter? Because for some time the Size 2 Snappi has only been a tale of legends told by moms who once got their hands on this life-changing product and think it’ll work for your chunky baby and prefold cloth diapers (or flat diapers). If like me, you went searching for this product and found it hard to come by, you’ll be excited to find it quickly at retailers and Amazon. SnappiBaby is bringing back the Size 2 Snappi.

What’s a Snappi?

A Snappi is a stretchy cloth diaper fastener to secure a prefold, flat, or fitted cloth diaper. With three sets of prongs, the teeth of the Snappi grab onto loose cotton fabrics with ease (and struggle with higher weaves). Made of non-toxic materials in 5 colours, the Snappi is a must have cloth diaper accessory.

Snappi is found in a standard size 1, but now a Size 2 Snappi is available. This bigger, better Snappi is ideally suited to bigger babies and growing toddlers. The Snappi is available in packs of 3 or 5 at SnappiBabyUSA.com and amazon.com.

What’s the Deal with Size 2?

The deal is the Size 2 Snappi offers a little more room to fold on a prefold cloth diaper or flat cloth diaper.

As a mom of chunky babies, I remember when my first maxed out the Snappi. I began to look at other fasteners, but none of them quite compared to the Snappi! The pull-down middle helps secure the prefold or flat cloth diaper in place. I never quite mastered the Boingo or the Diaper Pin the same as I do with a Snappi.

My Take on the Size 2 Snappi

I love it.

Honestly, I’m a little surprised the Size 2 Snappi is not bigger. I was expecting it to be bigger.

With flats, the Size 2 Snappi works great on my toddlers. With prefold diapers, a Size 2 Snappi also works great. He is a toddler and stopped cooperating for photos.

I also loved how it works on my baby. She’s not tiny, but at a chunky 18 pounds, it was a great fit. I would wager if you needed a cloth diaper fastener and your child was 15 pounds plus, only look a the size 2 Snappi.

Toddler is sporting a HumBird Stretchy Hemp Flat with a Size 2 Snappi. Baby is sporting a Receiving blanket with a size 2 Snappi.

Why do I need a Snappi to cloth diaper my Toddler?

This is a good question. Very seldom do I use a folded flat with my toddler because I believe pad folding cloth diapers is the way to go.

HOWEVER, Nighttime cloth diapering is a challenge, and a pad folded night time cloth diaper is MASSIVELY bulky and uncomfortable. However, if you fold and layer flats, refolds and inserts, you distribute the absorbency and get a trimmer fit. Then you need a fastener, and then you need a size 2 Snappi.

Snappi also works great in snap-less fitted diapers, flats under wool (like these stylish HumBird Flats my kids are wearing in the photos), and for just bumming around the house.

To celebrate the return of the Snappi from Snappi Baby, I’m giving away a couple of sets of Snappi’s thanks to SnappiBaby. Follow me on Facebook to catch a giveaway!

PS. Safely secure your Snappi after use. This way if it accidently finds its way into a load of laundry it wont destroy your diapers. #noexperiencenecessary  #farewellSeirenpski

I can’t wait to try the size 2 so we can use our prefolds right til potty with Littlest. We had to switch to pad fold with the prefolds at around 18-20 months with Little, although some flat folds still fit with the size 1 snappi.

Wish i had these for my middle son. My favorite night time combo was a snapless fitted with a big booster but at 3 a snappi DEFIENTLY didnt fit. Good to know for when baby gets to that point.

LO is a big boy in the 85+% for both weight and height. A size 2 Snappi will probably be just what we need to use for our snapless fitteds & prefolds soon.

I still remember back in the day when we had cloth diapers and had to use the big diaper pins and if one let loose OUCH! I wish they had something like this back then. These look amazing and super easy to use. I would love to give them a try! TY

I love that it’s sized for bigger babies and toddlers. My toddler was early and still weighed 8 lbs and is now a big toddler at 35lbs and 2.5 years old. So I can totally appreciate generously sized options for us!

Good laundry tip! I never would have thought to close and secure them first.

Do they make a bigger size for us adults who use cloth nappies for incontinence?

Snappi’s? No. There are brands who do make adult sized diapers for incontinence such as Snap-EZ Cloth Diapers
