This is a review of the Blueberry Pocket Cloth Diaper. When I originally purchased these diapers, they only came with microfibre inserts (as featured here). However, it looks like Blueberry Diapers has now released a Deluxe versions of their pocket cloth diaper featuring the birds eye cotton insert. I have an older version of their extra long insert that I’ll show here – I hope this also gives you a little frame of reference about the difference that natural fibre and synthetics.
I talk lots about how microfibre inserts are bulky and lead to poor fit. It can be difficult to really see that because both diapers are the same thickness – but the difference really is when the diaper is on baby. Natural fibres fold up easier for a smaller fit, and natural fibres mold to the body a lot better. Microfibre tends to fluff up and give a different shape and fit than what might be preferred.
Older Version Note – The diaper that I have is circulating 2016. This is a much older version of the Blueberry Pocket Cloth Diaper. There are some similarities, but it appears Blueberry now sells the diaper with two organic cotton inserts. The rest remains similar.

Also, you will notice that both my pocket diapers are missing snaps! This happened really early on in my cloth diaper journey. Blueberry sent me new snaps under warranty, but I didn’t have a snap press to replace them. Broken snaps is a struggle for some cloth diaper brands and products. It shouldn’t happen regularly, and it appears quality of Blueberry products ebs and flows over the years.
Where Can I buy Blueberry Diapers?
You can purchase Blueberry cloth diapers direct from Blueberry, and at many retailers. They are a high cost diaper because they are manufactured in North America using organic cotton products. This high quality diaper may feel like a sticker shock, but it is well loved by parents around the world for excellent fit and function.

The Basics of the Blueberry Pocket Diaper
This is a one size pocket cloth diaper for babies in the range of 10-35lbs. It features three rise snaps, with a double rise snap. It now comes with a double organic cotton insert – but back in the day it came with this long microfibre insert made of a dense high quality microfibre. I don’t personally use microfibre, but this was a good insert in terms of absorbency and functionality.
The exterior of the diaper is made of a laminated polyester knit, and features a high quality micro fleece liner with a back open pocket. This is a large pocket perfect for stuffing.
There is top edge stitch along the front o the diaper, and it does feature single leg elastics. There is no PUL belly panel like on some of my other favourite pocket diapers – Nuggles Simplee and Bebeboo Diaper.
Comparison of the Blueberry Pocket
I consider this to be a fairly classic fit and function. When I think about a nice fitting diaper that fits a wide array of sizes and babies, I think of this shape. It’s very similar to the Imagine Baby Pocket, the bumGenius 5.0, the Thirsties pocket, and has been copied by cheapies and co-ops.
It’s larger than the Rumparooz Pocket Diaper and very similar to the Imagine Baby Pocket shown below.
Whats to Love?
I love the classic shape and fit of this diaper. This is a good fitting diaper that fits babies from 10-35lbs with a lot of ease. There’s no big learning curve with this product, it just is what it is and that’s an incredible thing for cloth diapering parents.
It was a classic in my stash, but I don’t like microfibre, so I would often use it with a cotton prefold instead.
I don’t like that the fleece is easy to stick out and wish it had a belly panel. That’s likely why I stopped purchasing this diaper and opted for other pocket diapers in my stash.
I do love the extra large back open pocket. As a woman with man-sized hands it let me stuff the diaper super easily. The large pocket opening also means that inserts agitate out nicely – and if they don’t you can check out these super cute Diaper Dawg Mits.
Recommendation
Now that the Blueberry Pocket diaper is sold as a DELUXE diaper with just cotton inserts, I don’t think you could go wrong with this product. I hate the price tag when I’m purchasing a synthetic microfibre insert that I’m never going to use.
Is it still a high end product that might be out of your price range, yes. But it’s made in the USA and it is a good quality product. If Blueberry Diapers has figured out their snaps, then you might love it too and never have a problem.
If you’ve reviewed the Blueberry Pocket diaper recently, leave a link below or share your thoughts about this product. Reviews are purely one persons experience with a product and not reflective of the entire experience. You might hate or love this product in different ways and that is good and normal. I’m not an expert, but I do know what I’m doing.

This is just that fluff that happens from microfibre and is unusual with natural fibre diapers.
