I admit I have a love affair with Geffen Baby. Geffen Baby makes AMAZING quality absorbent diapers, diaper accessories, and products. I first fell down the rabbit hole with the Geffen Baby inserts (perfect for boosting all of my favourite cloth diapers, especially at night), and quickly stumbled upon the Geffen Baby Hemp Jersey Prefold Cloth Diaper.

Made in the USA, the Geffen Baby Hemp Jersey Prefold Cloth diaper is FOUR layers of 60% hemp and 40% organic cotton. The fabric blend creates a sturdy and durable prefold diaper. Available in four sizes from XS to XL, the Hemp Jersey Prefod is a basic prefold design.
Compared to other prefold cloth diapers, the Geffen Baby Hemp Jersey Prefold Diaper is a noticeably different shape. You might feel baffled by the design of the prefold cloth diaper in hand, but fear not the extra length is perfect for folding onto infants and toddlers.

- Quality Build: While Geffen Baby did provide me with a prefold for this review, I already own a few, and with a year’s worth of wear and tear, you can’t tell the new one from the old one. It stands up well over time.
- Made in the USA: This is a serious perk for me, as I’m continually looking for cloth diapers made locally in North America. Many prefold cloth diapers are made overseas, even for USA-based brands and manufacturers, so this is much appreciated.
- Comparable Price Point: At $7-10 USD, the Geffen Baby Hemp Jersey prefold cloth diaper is a comparable price point to similar high-quality USA designed prefold diapers.
Whats not to Love
- Snappi Compatibility: I dislike that it is difficult to use a Snappi with the Geffen Baby Hemp Jersey Prefold cloth diaper. I have been able to snag into the material, it takes too many attempts with wiggly toddlers. Instead, I find pins and pad folds a much easier use.
- just don’t buy the cheap diaper pins – not all diaper pins are created equal.
- Not Ideal for Padfold: While you can pad fold the Geffen Baby Hemp Jersey prefold cloth diapers, it’s not always ideally suited to it depending on your expectations.
- As a lazy cloth diaper user, I much prefer the classic ease of the pad fold and wish this diaper was more suited to it.
- Sometimes I find it too wide.
- Sometimes I find it too long.
- Sometimes I find it just right.
Recommendation
If you’re looking for a prefold to handle a heavy wetting child, you most definitely need to try a Geffen Baby Hemp Jersey Prefold. This mighty absorbent prefold cloth diaper is up for the task and the perfect addition to your prefold stash.
For best use, be sure to wash your Geffen Baby prefold at least three times, and look forward to increased absorbency as you keep washing. I prefer to padfold into my diapers, but don’t be scared to try your hand at using other fasteners.

I love using prefolds! I haven’t used any made from jersey, though it seems like the stretchiness would be great for getting a nice fit on a mobile baby/toddler
I also have a love affair going with all things Geffen Baby! I am slowly building up what I have one prefold and one pack of inserts at a time. They are one of the few products that can keep up with my heavy wetter grandson!
