We all have 5 year old daughters who are obsessed with unicorns and farm animals…. Right? Because I do. Anna is smitten about all things related to farm animals and unicorns. She wants to be a pig farmer when she grows up. As such, my mother booked her in for a horse experience at Discovery Equine at Cheam Stablesthis month and the experience was fantastic.
Disclosure – mom scored the gift certificate in an auction for local 4H, but I would hands down recommend this experience again.
The Horse Experience
Anna spent an hour and half with young woman learning about horses with a horse her size. She learnt how to lead the horse out, how to find the supplies for grooming, how to groom the horse, how to get the horse ready, and then went for a ride.
Because of her age and a little worry, she opted to go carting with the horse. This was fantastic introduction to the horse for my nervous city-girl daughter. And she loved every moment, just as much as I loved watching it happen.
Next time we are in Chilliwack, we’ll have to book an experience again and see if we can ramp her up to horse riding or learning more about horses and animal care.
