Once upon a time I tried all the trainers, but a few – including the Zero-A Training Pants or reusable trainer from Lil Helpers. Heather sent me one to check out, and we’re going to go over some of the great perks of this training pant.

About Lil Helper
Lil Helper is a Canadian cloth diaper brand founded by university buddies and aerospace engineers. They created an incredible diaper that continues to dominate the cloth diaper industry around the world. You can learn more about their story and product on the Cloth Diaper Podcast.

About the Zero-A Training Pants
The Zero-A Training Pants is a one-size side-snapping all in one trainer. It reminds me of the Rig N Gig Trainer, the Thirsties Trainer, and Omaiki Trainer all mixed together.
A few of the great design features
- Side Snaps – four snaps on both sides gives you pull on and snap off functionality
- One Size Design – rise snaps help you adjust the fit of this diaper that is estimated to fit babes 20-45lbs.
- Waterproof PUL layer – keep the wet where it belongs and away from the clothing with a built in layer.
- Minky Inner layer feels damp for little ones
- Built in absorbency – microfiber core sewn into the middle of the diaper.

Zero-A Training Pant Review
I was thrilled to hear that another side-snapping training pant had hit the market because it’s really the only way to do a training pant – at least in my experience because dealing with poop and toddlerhood means side snaps only.
Other side snaps
I also love that it is a one-size training pant because it offers that adjustability in fit for a broader range of sizes. Only other parents who have used this diaper can really give you the adequate feedback on that.

They don’t hold a full pee!
This will either sell you or be a turn off for you. For some parents they want a highly absorbent training pant, but for others you don’t.

Uncle Mo explains why they went with a light wetting training pant (which is the most common way)
If you’re looking for something for nights, I’d recommend a training pant with adjustable absorbency like the Bebeboo Grow Training Pant.
Recommendation for the Lil Helper Training Pant
The Lil Helper Zero-A-Trainer is great product if you’re looking for reusable pull on that can support potty training. It’s great for small accidents, and the day-to-day. It’s also great to support those underwear poopers while giving kids the pull-on ease.
For an everyday trainer this would replace my general recommendation of the Thirsties trainers or the Blueberry trainers or Applecheeks training pants just because side snaps are life.
You could probably get someone to make an adjuster if you needed more width. We’ll be talking about the Rig N Gig trainer in the coming weeks as a viable option for those looking for a wider size range that can have customized absorbency.
But if you’re looking for something that works for bigger kids, larger bladders ,and nights it’s not the right product.
