Lil’ Sidekick {Product Review}

Disclaimer: As a lil’ sidekick brand ambassador, we received this product at no cost. Nonetheless, we keep our review honest and in good faith of our real experience.
Does your child like to hurl his cup across the room? Or drop his toy truck like every chance you get? So does mine! Tired of picking things up? Me too! There’s a product for helping with that nuisance: Lil’ Sidekick.  #stopthedropgame

I’m not sure why toddlers love to drop things, but thank goodness for gravity (as my mother would say)! Without it, everything would be floating everywhere!

While it might just fall to the ground, the never-ending battle of picking toys, spoons, cups, and more is exhausting. For me, this is my final weeks of pregnancy, and my body just doesn’t bend like it used to. Keeping our toys, and cups tether is a massive win and makes my life easier.

About Lil’ Sidekick

Developed by a mom for moms, the lil’ Sidekick is a multi purpose tether. Its designed to hold things and keep things from falling to the ground. Founder and creator, Amy, grew easily frustrated with her typical baby/toddler, and sought out to solve the problem by designing the ingenious and beautiful Lil’ Sidekick product. She produces and manufactures the product in the United States.

The lil’ Sidekick is a simple-to-use gadget that attaches to almost anything anywhere. It’s soft rubbery texture customizes to the size of the object it needs to hold. Attach it anywhere, the lil’ Sidekick is ready to go; best yet, once dirty, it can be quickly tossed in the dishwasher for a clean up (its probably not hard to hand wash, but lets get real, busy mom life, I love to throw things in the dishwasher).

Lil’ Sidekick In Depth

The Lil’ Sidekick catches onto just about anything. Here’s some of our favourite things we like to keep close. For some things it’s easier to pre-loop the tether and shimmy it onto the object (such as our drink cups and crayons), while other objects loop and clasp into place.

It measures 2 feet long with about 16″ of tether available. On average, I find I get 6″ of tether from where I clip it once attached to an object.

It latches onto just about anything. I use it almost exclusively in our stroller by looping a nobby onto the straps or the side of the stroller. It also works on baby carriers (maybe when I’m not pregnant) , high chairs, bags, and more! Check out some of the great ideas over on the lil’ Sidekick Instagram.

Loving our Lil’ Sidekick

I seriously love my Lil’ Sidekick, and seriously wish I had one for our many other travel trips… including our trip to Rome, and Montreal/Ottawa. I was always chasing down toys being dropped in our airplane seat, from the stroller, or tossed out of high chairs. Needless, it was exhausting!  I’m not much of a germaphobe, but when toys land on a restaurant floor, that’s it. Game over.

  • Adjustable Sizes: I can use my Lil’ Sidekick for just about anything – crayons & spoons to larger objects such as cups and cars.
  • Simple to Use: It’s simple and easy to snap on and off of whatever you want to keep off the ground.
  • Small & Stash-able: The Lil’ Sidekick takes up very little room in my bag and is super light. In fact, its so small I couldn’t find it in the diaper bag one day and ended up tossing our second one in the bag! Turned out perfect, now I was able to secure both a drink and a snack to his stroller!

  • Made in the USA: While I’d love it if it was Canadian made, but I’ll settle for USA made.
  • Easy to Clean: The soft rubbery like material cleans up easily, and looks great over time. Unlike other products, the Lil’ Sidekick isn’t prone to a greasy, grimy look over time.

Downsides…

  • Short: When used with large objects like cups and trucks, I find the Lil’ Sidekick is a little short... I’d like a little more length for more freedom to move the truck on the table.
  • : It’s easy to forget the Lil’ Sidekick attached to a highchair, or loaner stroller… realistically, this isn’t so much a problem with the product itself, but with my husbands memory. We forgot it attached to a stroller we borrowed at a shopping mall on holidays, and I was pretty upset. I made sure we went back to get it!

Recommendation

If you don’t already have a Lil’ Sidekick, you really need to get one today.

If shipping costs don’t daunt you, or you are located in the USA, order one today thru Lil’ Sidekick directly (Use the promo code SIDEKICKFRIENDS to save 20%) or find them at one of their many retailers!

You won’t regret it, and you’ll love not picking things up! (Or loosing them! The number of sippy cups, toys, and snacks we’ve dropped in the past.)

Which colour will you choose?

This is probably the last time I tandem nursed. I don’t remember when or how the nursing relationship ended, it just fleeted away slowly and I kind of get the sad thinking about it right now. For most of my 4 years of breastfeeding, I wore the same nursing sleep bra until it pretty much […]

Nest & Sprout is a Service
