In 2017, I was beyond ecstatic to work with Mother-ease with after the debut of the Fashionables line up. At the time, I tried the one size Wizard Duo with an overnight insert. The latest Mother-ease prints in 2018 are EVEN MORE amazing. Today’s post is going to chat about the new one size Mother-ease Wizard Uno. Uno meaning AIO (all in one) cloth diaper because it is just one simple step.
Disclosure: Mother-ease sent me this diaper to review. All thoughts are my own, and I’m honest to the best of my knowledge. This post does contain affiliate links and small commissions will be earned via those purchases.
The Brand: Mother-ease
Mother-ease is a Canadian manufacturer of cloth diapers based out of Ontario. This brand has been around for almost as long as I’ve been alive. #babyBailey
Ove the years, Mother-ease has grown, changed and developed their products to the line up they have today. Mother-ease can be found at some retailers, but you can also buy directly and ship to Canada and/or the USA.
Word on the street: Original Mother-ease diapers weren’t as sexy as many of the other modern brands, but Mother-ease diapers are made to last. These are diapers people pass down from baby-to-baby-to-baby. Only the highest standards and quality products go into Mother-ease products making it the reason Mother-ease offers a limited lifetime warranty on materials.
The Diaper: Wizard Uno
The one size Wizard Uno is the Mother-ease all-in-one cloth diaper system. Previously, Mother-ease only offered sized AIO cloth diapers. This AIO cloth diaper is pretty basic, and if you’re already familiar with the Mother-ease Wizard Duo it will look very familiar.
In hand, this diaper is essential the Wizard Duo shell with a Mother-ease insert sewn in. So, if you only use your Wizard Duo as is, skip the snaps and try this.
The Mother-ease AIO is now AVAILABLE in one-size. I have a one-size option suggested for babies 7-35lbs. On the exterior, the diaper features a 3×2 rise snaps with 3 across and three different rise settings.
Inside the diaper, an absorbency pannel is attached to the front and back of the Wizard Uno. This makes the Mother-ease Wizard Uno similar to the bumGenius Elemental Version 2. The absorbency features a stay-dry layer quoted at 17 ounces of absorbency. This likely means Mother ease uses the stay dry insert seen in the duo system on the basis of their diaper.
Mother-ease cloth diapers are encased in a different edging/piping material. This mesh material is odd but effective. Don’t be scared off 🙂
The Reality of the OS Mother-ease Wizard Uno
You should know, I’m naturally biased towards one size cloth diapers. I don’t really get why sized diapers are popular and probably because my children grow like weeds and I’m constantly changing out clothing, the last thing I want to do is change out diapers. Buy it once, buy it right.
- Sizing: 7-35lbs, but the OS Mother-ease Wizard Uno cloth diaper is going to be bulky on a tiny baby. Like many one-size cloth diapers on a newborn, this will be bulky, but time passes and it’s a trim tush on your baby before you know it.
- I’m happy with the sizing on this diaper.!
- It still fits little miss on the middle rise. Truthfully, I dont know her stats but she’s no lean machine, still chunky and sweet.
- Compared to the one size Mother-ease Wizard Duo with night insert, this fit is much better because for that diaper I need her open rise. #trimmerFTW
- It is a squeeze on my chunky toddler. This is almost last snaps. He doesn’t fit many diapers and did say “ouch” when I put it on. This is very typical for him on one size cloth diapers as he is 4T clothing and over 37 pounds. He needs XL, or bigger sized diapers for everything. So this is just to show.
- Absorbency: The one size Wizard Uno from Mother-ease does the job in catching pee, I know they quote 17 ounces of absorbency, but sometimes synthetics just get prone to some leaks. This makes for one downside as I much prefer a natural fibre in my life.
- It can easily be boosted using a Mother-ease booster, or any other booster of your choosing.
- It can easily be boosted using a Mother-ease booster, or any other booster of your choosing.
- Functionality: This is a super easy cloth diaper to use. I pack it in my daycare bag for babysitters and the like.
- There’s nothing to really fiddle fart around with like folding tongues, or stuffing tongues, or getting tongues in the right place.
- Just like the bumGenius Elemental you put it down, put baby on it, and go.
- The stay dry liner shakes off the poop like a breeze. One of my favourite features at the moment.
- This diaper handles poop like a champ. It’s my easiest diaper for the poop struggles ATM.
I love how simple this is to use and the absorbency. The Mother-ease Wizard Uno as a one size cloth diaper is a bit bulky compared to a few other options on the cloth diaper market, but the amazing prints make me wanting me more. I would prefer that it was natural fibres because that’s my personal preference for my babies
Side note: because of my evil dryer, I don’t like how long these take to air dry but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Recommendations
Would I buy this diaper again? Yes. I actually have two of these diapers and I keep them in my every day all the time rotation.
If you need more absorbency, then you need the overnight insert with the Wizard Duo like in this review. But this one is really great for the every-day baby who just pees.
At only $28.95 CDN, the Mother-ease OS Wizard Uno is an incredibly affordable all in one cloth diaper for the Canadian market. Made in Canada, the only cheaper comparable AIO is the Bummis Pure. This is a reasonably priced cloth diaper for the calibre.
Buy it today directly from Mother-ease.

These are so pretty. I love the simplicity of the all in one diapers! It is nice to have something that kids don’t grow out of seemingly overnight.
They are such cute diapers. I’ll have to check out their patterns.
I’ve heard really great things about this brand, and love your review. I’d certainly like to try them
I haven’t tried any Mother-Ease diapers before and I haven’t tried any AIOs yet . I’ve registered for a few different ones for this next baby, so I’m looking forward to trying them since I’ve heard they are super easy to use. The size comparison is interesting.. My girls were very thin and lightweight, so these would have fit them through potty training. I’m expecting a boy this time, so I’m not sure what to expect as far as size and fit go. I’d love to try them though!! The prints are gorgeous!!
I’ve heard of Mother-ease, but I have not tried them yet. I would love to have this in the shark print!
I haven’t tried Motherease diapers, but would LOVE to add some to my (massive) stash. Cloth diapers are so addictive!
PS, love the blog (I have the same theme) and would love to stay in touch 🙂

I love the prints that Mother Ease has, and now that we’re only in diapers for sleep and out and about, we’ve been only using AIOs!
I also have a chubbier baby, so I might be using the last snaps, too.
This print is gorgeous. I love the ease of use which will be good for us newbie parents and caregivers!
I had some motherease with my eldest but I guess I thought they would stay they way they where back then….oh my no! So cute, I love the prints!
I keep hearing positive things about mother ease. I think it’s about time I give these a try!
We’ve tried many diapers so I always love to see something unique. The Wizard Uno doesn’t disappoint, and I sure do love their creative prints and colors!
Honestly I have not seen this diaper but I do have to say I do like it. AIO are one of my favorite.
I love Mother-Ease cloth diapers! I currently use the Wizard Duo line, but would love some Unos. The lack of a double guesset on the covers (on the Duo and Uno) threw me off as that’s usually something I look for, but the absorbent pad has elastic along the front, back and sides, so messes are definelty contained. The Cover of the new fashionables line is such nice material – quite thin, soft and moves with baby so nicely. Lastly, the stay dry lining is amazing… it is very resistant to staining.
This is the first I’ve heard of Mother Ease so I can’t say much but thank you for the awareness. My daughter is looking for brands to try out as she will be cloth diapering when her first child arrives in April.
I had no idea that Mother Ease was located in Ontario! I haven’t tried any of their products, but I’m very interested in giving them a try, especially since they are “local” to me!
This is a really thorough review! I would love to try this diaper!
AIOs are something I didn’t really use with my first but I’m really enjoying their convenience with my second. I don’t have too many (and no MotherEase) so it would be great to win so I could grow my stash and try a new brand!
This is a brand I’ d really like to try, but since baby isn’ t born and I have a limited budget, I can’ t invest in yet ( hence why I really hope to win :P)
I love the patterns! Thanks for your thorough review!
Hi! My husband and I are expecting our first in August and have really been thinking about using cloth diapers. This post has been super helpful! Thanks!
I absolutely love these diapers! We use them day and night and they are amazing!! Leak free nights with a booster or two and still comfortable. Easy to wash and stay dry comfort for my picky, heavy wetter.
I love Mother-ease diapers but don’t have any OS AIOs. Thanks for summarizing the pros and cons.
Thanks for the review. The patterns are lovely!
I love Mother-ease! I’ve only tried Sandys and air flow covers, they are my favourite and what I reach for the most. I would LOVE to try a OS Wizard Uno!
I would love to try one, they look very durable but still pretty:)
