One of my favourite things about the state of the cloth diaper industry is the flex of incoming cloth diaper brands, retailers and products. Many cloth diaper manufacturers are limited by existing patents, but that doesn’t mean brands aren’t going out of their way to improve, redesign, and create diapers that are more functional, leak proof and better than ever.
2021 Trendiest Diapers
Last year I did a list of must-have or trendiest diapers for 2020. And this is this year’s list of diapers for 2021. These aren’t necessarily new as of this year but rather products everyone is talking about and you need to know about. And by everyone, I probably mean myself.

- Cloth Diaper Mistakes
I’m also in the know that there’s new products, new brands, and more amazing diapers launching at the end of 2021. So keep your eyes peeled for continued innovation in cloth diapering that looks more affordable and performs better than Pampers attempt at modern diapering.
Wool has never been so Modern: Puppi Diapers & Bumby Wool
You’re maybe thinking about a wool soaker like this Humbird one I reviewed, or the Sloomb Underwoolies. In 2021, we’ve seen the uptake on rethinking natural fibres and modernizing diaper covers to provide different options for families who need it whether it’s accessibility or functionality.
Puppi Diapers is a European cloth diaper brand that has been manufacturing cloth diaper covers out of wool. But the Puppi Wool diaper cover is everything you know about modern cloth diaper covers but made of wool. Yes you still Lanolize them. Yes they are trim. And yes they are the most beautiful thing on the planet. I do have one and I can’t wait to take the time to review it.
Bumby Wool is also breaking out into the diaper cover scene with a modern twist on the wool diaper cover. This Canadian brand has spent the past few years making tweaks and changes to create the new Abrazo cover featuring hook & loop, trimmer fit, and machine washable wool.
We love that the Bebeboo Grow is an accessible, adaptable, Grow with me style diaper that gives families that ease of use more than ever before. One of the biggest complaints I hear is that bigger diapers and potty training pants lack absorbency and functionality for the people they are designed for.
But the reviews, adaptions, and passion by the Bebeboo Grow has me excited that this diaper will fill an important niche that can be loved by parents of kids at many different stages. It features a pocket design for you to customize your absorbency with stretchy tabs for easy pull on and off usability.
Prints that Stand Out: Kinder Cloth Diapers
Kinder cloth diapers company launched earlier this year, and after gaining massive popularity on TikTok Krystal has had a hard time keeping her diapers in stock. She’s a graphic designer who works other graphic designers to create some incredible diaper prints for those looking for bright, colourful modern takes on an eco-conscious diapering choice. I can’t wait for my Kindercloth diaper to arrive.

Retailers to Watch
We lost a lot of different brands and retailers during the pandemic for numerous reasons, but we also have the rise of some new passionate families ready to encourage cloth diapering.
The Revival of the Diaper Service
Diaper services died out in the 1990s… but, over the past year so many more passionate business owners are trying to make it work again. Why? Because the shared economy businesses benefit everyone. They provide us with deep clean diapers delivered weekly. Parents are busy because we’ve given them too many things to do in a 24 hour day, but single use diapers are not great for the environment. So Diaper Services provide that in between space to support families do the thing they want to do.
And they are probably better for the environment.
