Last year, my favourite Canadian cloth diaper retailer brought in the OsoCozy diaper cover and I had to check it out because it looked like a simple budget-friendly option for Canadians – especially, when it goes on sale.
I know that you have a lot of options when it comes to finding cheaper cloth diapers but for me, as a blogger and someone who recommends diapers, there’s a few things that I look for to get you into the right product. And this includes a products accessibility – and being stocked at Canadian retailer like LagoonBaby, where you could easily have this product in a few days, or less than a week if you’re West Coast Canadian is a huge plus for me. I also love that when you shop at LagoonBaby you get to collect points to use on future products, you can try a wide array of brands for one shipping cost, and you have customer service and warranty. This experience is not unique to LagoonBaby, but applies to many locally owned and operated cloth diaper retailers. For a complete list of affiliate shops and brands that I recommend check out this post.

About the OsoCozy Brand
What do we know about this brand? Honestly, not a whole lot. They are part of the All Together Diaper Company and have been in the cloth diaper business for many many years. They have traditionally made prefold and flat diapers, and these products are known for their durability. They are owned and operated by Dennis Frederick according to their website. I don’t have any reason to believe this brands products are not what they say they are.

The Osocozy One Size Diaper Cover
This is a cloth diaper cover. It is just a waterproof cover that you use with your choice of absorbent materials. You will need to purchase a fitted diaper, prefold, or flat separately. You could also repurpose materials such as receiving blankets or t-shirts to be used with this system. You can use anything you want, as long as it fits.
This diaper is also available in a newborn size, but I purchased the one size variation. This diaper is suggested to fit babies from 8-35lbs. This is the standard size range for most one size products and will vary depending on the size of your child and the product that you pair with it.
This diaper features a set of double waist snaps, a cross over snap, and a 3×3 rise setting to help you customize your diapers fit. The cross over snap is used to get a tighter fit on the stomach, or so you can roll it up. The 3×3 rise setting – or the snaps in the midsection of the diaper – is used to adjust the diaper down for smaller babies. Close all the snaps for babies in the 8-14lb range, use the second snap for the 12-25lb range, and open all the snaps for babies in the 20+ range. This will vary depending on the bulk of the material you use. You might need to play around with these sizes depending if you are using a fitted diaper or if you are using a single insert.
It is a single layer of PUL material. You can see the exposed PUL on the inside of the diaper and this allows you to wipe the diaper clean. This is a feature you may appreciate if you like using your diaper cover multiple times before washing. Simply replace the absorbent material, let dry or wipe out, and reuse until soiled. Typically a diaper cover is used three times before washing.
It also features a set of double leg gussets. Leg gussets are advertised to keep the mess contained, but they are often sewn into a diaper like this to give you more girth in the crotch of the diaper allowing for a better fit over fitted cloth diapers.
My Recommendation
Take note, I have not tried this diaper on a child because I no longer have a baby to test this diaper with. The following information is provided you as a long-time member of the cloth diaper community and user of products. Check the reviews of store websites or other blogs for more information. If you write a review about this feel free to share it in the comments.
I would recommend this diaper. The materials feel of good quality and the overall build of the diaper should work with most set ups. This diaper has a lot of good classic features that gives it that classic diaper fit and function. Basically, this diaper is everything I look for in a cover. So it would be a great choice for me
I do think the single layer of exposed PUL might break down over time, but that is the story of most diapers.
I think it’s a great price point – $14.99 Canadian it makes it one of the more competitively priced Canadian cloth diaper companies from a retailer. There are of course other cheaper diapers out there but they may not meet standards, or may just have a lower operating cost and that’s okay too.
