I took a break from cloth diapers on Sunday. It started on Saturday, when I came home from a play date and was just exhausted (why must my toddler climb on everything). The bucket of dirty cloth diapers was full, the previous load still in the washing machine, and the stash neatly tucked away for the Flats and Hand washing Challenge 2017. So, because I bought a couple boxes of disposables for my trip later this month, I cracked them open, and diapered both babies in paper instead of cloth.

Simply Dad found this so strange when he came home Sunday evening. He asked me not once, but three times if everything was okay. Everything is mostly okay. It’s hard to manage 2 under 2, and this time, I just wanted a break.
I major regretted it. Little Miss had not one, not two, but FOUR poop leaks out of her disposable diapers. Today, was by far the worst. She leaked all down the leg of her pant. I think my break from cloth diapers actually resulted in more laundry than if I was to actually just cloth diaper my babies.
So, I kicked my butt back into gear, and put my babies back into cloth diapers. I’ve had these Sweet Pea Cloth Diapers set aside for some time now in hopes of taking a “matching” sibling photo. Little Miss can still fit the Sweet Pea Newborn AIO, but I also love how she fits the pocket diaper. It’s also awesome on Little Man. The perfect birth to toddlerhood diaper!

Have you taken a break from something you love?

I don’t do cloth diapers, but either way, I am so ready for my 3rd kid to finally go on the potty. He’s just newly 2…but come on!!!! LOL I’m done with diapers!

I agree with Sarah! I’m ready for potty training! Haha! Diapers are such a pain.

I never did cloth diapering but I feel your pain on the leaky diaper day! There are some days when I can’t believe how much laundry one little person can go through!

Adorable diapers and adorable children. These diapers were not around when my kids were littles.

Your blog makes me wish I would have done cloth diapering when I started having children.
