Shine Cloth Diaper Cover Review

Over the past year, I’ve had the greatest pleasure of getting to know Deja, the woman behind Shine Cloth, on the internet. I mean that in the most casual of ways because we follow each other on Instagram – but she’ll be sharing her cloth diaper story on the podcast in 2022.

Today, we’re going to check out her Cloth Diaper Cover, and I’m sure you have more questions including comparisons, so be sure to leave a comment, and in 2022 I’ll try to do a video and a few a comparisons to learn more about how this diaper compares.

I’m excited to add more black owned cloth diaper brands to my stash this year.

About Shine Cloth

Shine Cloth is a Black Owned Cloth Diaper brand hand making cloth diapers. Over the years, Deja has changed and evolved. Today she sells a collection of cloth diaper covers direct on her website.

The Shine Cloth Diaper Cover

The Shine Cloth Diaper Cover is a larger one-size cloth diaper cover designed for babies 12-40lbs (not for newborn cloth diapering!)

It’s a pretty simple design – cloth diaper covers, usually are.

  • PUL Exterior
  • Wipeable PUL Interior (yes, double PUL)
  • Snap for Inserts
  • PUL Belly Panel for tucking Inserts

The Shine Cloth Diaper Cover can be used with your favourite snap-in inserts from an existing diaper system, prefold diapers, flat folds, or fitted diapers. It’s a truly versatile diaper that works with your established routine.

With a cloth diaper cover you can continue to reuse the cloth diaper cover until soiled – giving you on average 3-4 diaper changes per day

Review of the Shine Cover

This is a sturdy cloth diaper cover and I don’t think Deja does it service in her descriptions online. It’s two layers of quality PUL sewn together to really give you that waterproof barrier that’s going to hold up.

I love that you can use this diaper with snap-in inserts, flats, or prefolds.

I love that you can wipe this diaper cover clean, and that it’s no fuss. Sure, it doesn’t have fancy double gussets, but it’s got good structure to hold it all together.

I didn’t try this with a baby, I just held it in my hands and loved on it. If I find other reviews, I’ll be sure to add them in the links below! Enjoy and check out Shine today.

Today, I did something I never imagined doing – I had a settlement conference following a small claims suit I made earlier this year. I filed for financial compensation following negligence of bookkeeping services that I hired out for almost 18 months.  The thing about small claims court is they really want you to nail […]

Prince George, BC | My Rhododendron Died

I’m from BC’s southwest coast, rhododendrons grow everywhere. They are the hedge plant of everything, but in Prince George, BC you will be hard pressed to find a rhododendron because they are just not zone 3 plants.  When we purchased our current home we were surprised to discover a rhododendron – but there was much […]
