Let’s Start with Lagoon Baby
If you don’t already know, I’m a huge fan of Lagoon Baby (now that my local retailer is no more). This is my go-to cloth diaper shopping choice because it’s relatively close to me (aka in the same province).
Lagoon Baby has one of the biggest selections on cloth diapers in Canada and provides amazing customer service and shopping experience. This is not just an online store if you happen to live in the Lower Mainland than this your neighbourhood cloth diaper store. Make a visit to Maple Ridge and you won’t be disappointed. I always leave with armfuls of diapers, clothes, and toys.
If you’re looking for something to do after your visit, I might suggest the Staves Fall Damn, or there’s a couple playground in the Maple Ridge area.
Finding an Overnight Cloth Diaper that Works.
Overnight cloth diapering is very daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. There are tons of great overnight cloth diaper solutions out there that can help make the experience less intimidating. The Sloomb Bamboo Fitted Diaper might just be the right choice for you. I sure think it’s awesome. If you already love the Lilly & Frank Fitted Diaper, then you’ll love this one too.
I’ve always been a loyal fan to using fitted cloth diapers and wool overnight. I just find it’s an amazing bulletproof solution that meets the needs of 8-12 hours of non-stop peeing.

Now that my youngest takes a water bottle to bed we need a tactic for her heavy wetter overnight tendencies and the Bamboo Fleece Fitted sent to us by Lagoon Baby was just the right fit.
What is the Sloomb Bamboo Fleece Fitted Diaper?
Sometimes in chat groups, you’ll see this type of diaper called an OBF, but the specific one I have on hand is a BFF and it’s very similiar. Don’t worry if the lingo overwhelms you, it overwhelms me too. This diaper is a fitted cloth diaper meaning it’s the shape of a diaper made out of absorbent material, but it will need a waterproof cover such as a pul/tpu cover or a wool cover like the Underwoolie.

This is a sized cloth diaper the sizing chart on the website. This Sloomb Fitted diaper is available in sizes XS to XL with a range starting at 5lbs and suitable for 32+ pounds. I have a size large which is sized at 22-32 pounds, but you can check to take waist and leg measurements for the best fit.
Because it is a sized diaper it doesn’t have any rise snaps. It fits as is, and features a crossover waist snap for the best waist fit. The Large and XL feature hip snaps for sizing up.
Inside the diaper, it is just a plain jane fitted diaper. The outside if dyed fleece, and inside is a natural fleece. There is a long soaker tongue provided. Fold this in half to fit in the length of the diaper. It does not attach. It just sits in the diaper. The Sloomb Fitted is 70% bamboo and 30% cotton.

How is this diaper different than the OBF? Serging on the OBF is on the outside, whereas the BFF is turned in. Additionally the OBF has a snap in insert with doubler, whereas this one does not. As per Sloomb’s website.
You’ll need a cover for this fitted cloth diaper. You could use any old cover, but the best bulletproof answer to overnight cloth diapering is to use wool.
Don’t run away on me now! Because wool is incredibly easy and entirely worth it.
We’ve paired this fitted cloth diaper with an underwoolie from Sloomb.
Underwoolies are perfect for you if you’re looking for a sleek trim fit with the comfort of natural fibres. It gives breathability, and with the right amount of lano keeps clothes dry. I typically layer the underwoolie with a fleece pj without any problem overnight; however, if you have a tummy sleeper and use cotton you might find it does leak through. The underwoolie is thinner wool and even with a double layer knit it’s not always the best idea for tackling super soakers at night, but for us regular wetters it does the job.

— lano? What are you talking about Bailey? Lano is a process of making wool awesome. Learn how to do it here.
Does it Work?
Yes, it does.
The Bamboo Fleece Fitted Diaper does not disappoint.
It’s soft.
It’s luxurious.
It’s absorbent.
It’s heavy wetter status.
It’s incredible quality.
It fits amazing.
It’s natural fibres.

My only complaint… okay, I have two.
- It fits big – I solely based my order on weight and because she’s 23 pounds, I ordered the large, but it feels massive on her, and goes up to her belly button! Lots of room to grow, and not necessarily a bad thing because I’d rather invest in something that lasts more than 3 months. A size Medium would probably fit her better.
- The Inserts Don’t Snap In – I don’t like loosing inserts and matching things in the wash. If I could improve this diaper in any way, I would add snaps so that I can snap in my insert and not worry about misplacing it. I’m kind of lost cause in that sense.

It also kinda sucks that it is a sized cloth diaper product because that means you’ll need to buy more as your child changes shape. However, in the world of absorbent fitted cloth diapers, that’s not always a bad thing. Having variations in sizes lets us keep the diaper smaller, trimmer, and a better fit that will give you an amazing cloth diaper experience. In my cloth diaper journey, one size fitted cloth diapers sometimes disappoint, and sized versions are just a better overall experience. Also if you’re getting into fitted diapers in toddlerhood, no point in fighting with one size limitations in sizing, just get the fitted. This fitted will fit for the rest of her overnight diapering needs.

Besides that, the Sloomb BFF & Underwoolie is awesome
This combo really does the job for us at night. It’s absorbent for when she drinks all night, but it’s not overwhelming bulky. With the underwoolie, I can still dress her in fleece for a cold Canadian winter night.

I love how soft the product is, and the colours are just divine.
As for night time use: This diaper is better than a Sweet Pea Fitted Diaper. This diaper is better than a Bummis AIO. This diaper is on par with a Nuggles Fitted (without booster). This diaper is more absorbent than a GroVia ONE. This diaper is for overnight and for naps. If you are looking for a heavy wetterHeavy Wetter Overnight Cloth Diaper Solutions overnight solution try this one.
It’s beautiful and it’s quality.
It’s worth every penny, and yes you need one.
Which is why you should go buy it from LagoonBaby! But if you can’t buy it today, try your luck and win one.

I’ve been so tempted to try wool for overnight, my son isn’t a super heavy wetter so it would probably work great for us. How hard is it to maintain the underwoolies? Is there any special care or just wash and wear?
This is awesome!! I have started Cd my first child and have yet to get my hands on underwoolies. Love to win it for my second coming Xmas eve baby <3
I have been thinking about getting a sloomb fitted diaper but I’m scared I will love them and want them all fitteds…
My toddler is getting to the point where he’s outpeeing our current night time diapers. Depending on how he reacts to the coming baby we may need to put off night time training and invest in some of these!
I keep hearing amazing things about wool but I am so nervous to try.. I hear that you can reuse wool covers if they are “just a little damp”? Wouldn’t they smell, and what about bacteria? My stash is mainly AIO’s and pockets, I feel like I need to diversify and branch out of my comfort zone lol.
We ordered our first BFF recently for baby number 2 due in june, and I am so looking forward to trying wool this time around!
Love Lagoon Baby! Natalie is the best. We’ve used Sloomb for overnight since babes were 9 months old. They’re the best!!
I also love ordering from the lagoon 🙂
Looking to add another wool cover to my stash! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
Thanks for the chance – i’d love to try this diaper on my baby!
I love the 1 Sloomb wool cover we have. It is definitely a high quality item. I would love to try more of their products because we love fitteds & wool at night.
I like that this is for a heavier wetter, which I need.
My new grandson brings me more joy than I could have ever imagined. He is 3 months old to day and I would like to get him into cloth diapers at least while I watch him, which is while his mother is in school Tuesday and Thursday day, then she works those nights. And she has picked up a part time job Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and one of her friends and I share baby duty as I am taking 5 on line classes myself,
I have an extreme heavy wetter girl. This is exactly what I need. I’ve heard excellent things about them, just haven’t had the chance to make a purchase.
