I connected with Nuggles! To review the Nuggles! Swimsees swim diaper because it is summer time and I knew that would mean long HOT days at the splash pad playing in the water. But then, my Nuggles! Swimsees arrived, the weather turned cold and dreary, and I didn’t know what to do! The obvious answer is going to the pool! I have two kids under 2, and I’m already terrified of the pool with one kid, let alone solo with two kids. We waited until SimplyDad had some time at home to join us and took an adventure to the pool to put the Swimsee to the test! We also lucked out with a burst of summer sunshine this week to continue our extensive testing.
I received this product from Nuggles! in exchange for a honest review on the Swimsee! The Nuggles! Swimsees is a re-usable cloth swim diaper. You need a cloth swim diaper because it makes financial and environmental sense. A swim diaper is solely intended to keep poop from floating away. Whether its disposable or not, pee will escape and that’s okay. Why spend money on a disposable poop catcher, when you get a stylish and perfectly fitted cloth swim diaper? It’s super easy to manage.
- Adjust rise snaps for the size of the baby.
- Snap it on tight to keep the poop from escaping.
- If baby poops, dump it in the toilet and rinse, and then wash like you would a swimsuit.
- If baby doesn’t poop, wash like a swimsuit.

All About Nuggles!
Nuggles! is a small business based out of beautiful British Columbia. Cherelle started the business in 2012 to meet the needs of her family and has continually worked to grow this Canadian cloth diaper and business.
Diapers are designed here in BC but manufactured in responsible and fair-wage facilities overseas. To read the full story on Nuggles! commitment to high standards checks out their page.
Nuggles! Swimsees Design
The Nuggles! Swimsees looks and feels different than many other swim diapers on the cloth diaper market. It features a unique adjustable mesh sling to provide a double layer of protection from unexpected solid waste.
The mesh sling features adjustable elastic. Change the buttons placement, and the sling tightens or expands depending on the size of your baby. This provides a second secure layer to trap and contain solid waste.
On the outside, the diaper features a smaller similar shape to the Tuck & Go Wraps, but not quite. It’s neither the size of the size 1 or 2, but in-between. A double set of rising snaps allows this diaper shell to snap up and down to fit birth to 3 years, or weights 10-35 pounds. There is snap over waist snaps for a tiny waist, and hip snaps to keep wings neatly in place.
Swimming with the Nuggles! Swimsees
Not only did we get a chance to hit the pool with the Nuggles! Swimsees swim diaper, but the finally turned around, and we enjoyed some time on the patio splashing in the pool and soaking up the sunshine.
- Fit & Sizing: I was surprised by this fit, my big toddler. The diaper looks and feels small in hand, but it’s deceptive as we have one set of waist snaps still to go, one on each side (this is about average for most cloth diapers). It fit both babies exceptionally well.
- Design: I dig the overall design of this diaper and here are some features I love:
- Elastic Spring: The spring in this diapers elastics are awesome. I love how it gives a tight (but gentle, no marks) fit all around. Legs, tummy and back, the elastics in this diaper make this diaper curls right up when not in use. But when used it helps keep the mess inside.
- Mesh Sling: the material of the mesh sling is just the right amount of mesh-ness. It allows water to pass but would do an excellent job at keeping the poop contained in the first layer.
What you want to know: Poop. The ultimate question with any swim diaper is “will it catch the poop?” Unfortunately, I can’t answer because neither child pooped in the diaper. The best I can suggest is the Nuggles! Swimsees is set up to handle the task. If the mesh sling is adjusted to give a tight fit, this provides a double layer of protection in addition to the PUL-based diaper.
Dislikes & Concerns for the Nuggles! Swimsees
The adjustable mesh sling within the diaper irritates me because I have 2 in diapers. Adjusting the sling is a little bit of a nuisance when I switch who uses what diaper, as both babies are different shapes. If you have only one baby using this diaper, then it’s not a big deal.
I’m also a little bummed it fits smaller than anticipated. Unlike the large size 2 Tuck & Go Wrap, the Swimsees is a tighter fit on my toddler tyke. I expect it will last, and I like the snug overall fit, but for chunkier of toddlers there *might* be limitations.
I also kind of wish the diaper had a tad of absorbency for the in-between the change room and the pool situation, but that isn’t a deal breaker when choosing my swim diaper.
My Recommendation
I wish I tried the Nuggles! Swimsees swim diaper earlier. I seriously love it because it is a surprisingly snug fit on both babies and looks great at the pool. I’m impressed with the design and quality of this swim cloth diaper and fully trust it to keep in both baby and toddler-sized poops. Find it directly from Nuggles!
