This summer, I’m trying something new and exploring the parks and playgrounds in Prince George. For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been in a rut visiting the same old Prince George playgrounds, but time to kick that go-getter into action and explore a new Prince George Playground.
Today, we checked out Harper Park. Harper Park is an AMAZING little Prince George Playground found in the central/bowl region of the city. Accessible Irwin Street and Harper, Harper Park is located at 644 Harper between 5th and 10th avenue in Prince George, BC.
This is a fair sized community park with a relatively new play structure. It is entirely fenced in, but accessible with wheels (you can push a stroller thru the corner entrances). There is one picnic table, and many young trees. While there is no shade today, in a few years this will be a beautiful oasis.
The play structure is rated for ages 2-12 and my toddler had no problem scampering all over it. There is a single slide and lots of climbing apparatuses to entertain a climber. Harper Park also comes equipped with a swing set including 2 baby swings and 2 regular swings.
This Prince George Playground, Harper Park, even has a baseball diamond and a small basketball net and pad making it a really versatile space.

We visited today and it was 30+C outside and cooking hot. There were very few other park users, but there were very few other people outside. The neighbourhood seems nice enough and I didn’t feel uncomfortable being there. The park was clean and litterfree.
We remembered to wear our hats, apply sunscreen and bring lots of water. However, my toddler still battled me out with wearing his hat. I’m seriously crushing on these Twinklebelle hats and can’t wait to finish up my blog review.
