This past year of potty training independence has been a whirlwind. When I started this journey a year ago, I assumed we would be finished potty training by the end of the summer, and then by the end of the year, and now I’m just taking it one day at a time, and letting him be his own person because that’s what works best for me, and my prospects for him.

During this past year of potty training, there have been some amazing potty training pants released to the market. I have been so lucky to try many of the potty training pants for reviews and giveaways, and each new product continues to blow me away with being more awesome. The most recent release is from Thirsties as they shared a brand new product: Thirsties Training Pants are AWESOME.

Thirsties Potty Training Pant Design
The Thirsties Potty Training Pant is similar to the Blueberry training pant. When I picked it up from the store that was my initial impression. Bringing it home, I can see it’s very much a similar product.
Thirsites Trainers come in five sizes (and currently three prints). Available from XS (20 – 27lbs) to XL (42-56lbs). We have a size Large (33 – 45lbs) for my 38lb, 3/4T, 32-month-old.
These reusable, cloth training pants consist of 4 layers of certified organic cotton absorbency sewn in the centre of the pant. The wet zone is then lined with TPU laminate and a cotton print material creates the exterior of the underpants. Easy fitting elastics along the legs and waist provide potty training children with easy comfortable fit and use.

Real Life Functionality.
I love it.
Thirsties really created a great product with the Thirsties Potty Training Pant.
While similar to the well-renowned Blueberry Trainers this potty pant is better. Blueberry Trainers constantly wick under clothing and don’t really offer much for overall absorbency.
Thirsites Potty Training pants are mighty absorbent and mighty good at doing their job. They keep in the wet and hold a ton of pee. Well, a ton is relative in potty training world. Remember, these are for accidents and not full bladders. I maxed this out around 10-12 ounces of liquid, making it pretty solid option. Similiar to the new AppleCheeks Learning Pants, the Thirsties Potty Training pant takes forever to dry and this tells me it’s an absorbent product.

Limitations
Because it’s made in America, and it’s a quality product with absorbency and great design, Thirsties Training Pants is not cheap. Guys, these run at $22.95 CDN each. This is about par to similar products at retailers, but can feel a bit intimidating when you’re trying to transition out of expensive diapers! I get it.
I hate how long Thirsties Training Pants take to dry.
I wish they had snapped. I wish with all my might that all Potty Training Pants had some easy way to unsnap when your kid poops in them. My kid, he’s an underwear pooper and it sucks! The only training pants with snaps for big kids like him is the Omaiki Hero Daytime trainers.

My Recommendation
Thirsties Training Pants are quickly becoming a top favourite of mine. I love Thirsties Training Pants just like my Applecheeks, Bummis and Omaiki cloth training pants. I would buy another pair if there was a cute print available. I really like how they feel like underwear. The Rumparooz Lil Learnerz was a favourite for some time until I released the exterior PUL is just a turn-off, and soft cotton like the THirsties Potty Pant is really the way to go.
If you need something absorbent with the sizing flexibility offered by Thirsties, the Thirsties Potty Training Pant is a great choice. The expensive price means they are awesome and you totally go this potty training thing.

Thank you for your review. I was eyeing these potty training pants, and was wondering how absorbent they are. Your review helped me to understand that. I also wish they weren’t that expensive though, but I guess the quality worth it!

Your potty learning pant reviews are really helping me choose what to collect for when my LO begins the process sometime this next year. So far we have a few Rumparooz Lil’ Learnerz & Blueberries, but Thirsties is definitely on my wish list now.

Side snaps are a huge plus. I’m sad thirsties doesn’t have them.
